Marijuana is for adults over the age of 21, not for minors.

Adults over 21 may legally possess one ounce of marijuana (THC) in Colorado. You don’t need to be a resident; any person over 21 has a constitutional right in Colorado to possess and consume marijuana. You just need a valid government-issued ID showing proof of age.

Colorado residents and non-residents alike may purchase and possess up to one ounce (28 grams) of marijuana or marijuana equivalent products.

Marijuana may NOT be consumed in public (bars, restaurants, sidewalks, parks, public transportation, etc.). It is also illegal to consume marijuana on federal land (federal parks, federal facilities, etc.). Most hotels also forbid marijuana consumption.

Serving Size
Take the time to learn what serving size works for you — everyone is different, especially when it comes to edible marijuana products. It can often take up to 2 hours to feel the full effect of edibles so wait before consuming more.

What Happens in Colorado Stays in Colorado
While it is legal to purchase and possess marijuana in Colorado, it is NOT legal to transport it across state lines.

Driving Under the Influence
Colorado has established a new DUI law that sets a legal limit for the amount of active THC in your system while driving, which is 5 nanograms per milliliter of blood. Be smart and don’t drive under the influence.
